Loose skin?

AI have heard a lot of different rumors as to what actually helps with loose skin. I've heard that building muscle and losing fat helps. I've read drinking tons of water helps. I've heard that if you lose weight too fast, you'll have way too much skin. I've heard that tanning helps....and that it doesn't. I've even heard that rubbing Preparation H on loose skin helps....wow.
I do not want surgery. If I have to live with some extra skin, so be it...
I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck with anything, and what tips you might have. I know that it could take months, even years....but that's okay. :)

I would definitely agree that building muscle would help support saggy skin. At the end of the day your skin only has a certain amount of flexibility and depending on your age and how much it has been stretched it may never fully go back to normal. Vitamin E oil is also supposed to help with skin elasticity.

Well, i guess it all depends on how loose your skin is. I have some loose stomach skin and I use tummy butter and it does help it. It has collagen and vitamin E in it and its help firm up the skin around my belly button that seems to sag a bit.

I spent alot of time reading about this when I was at my heaviest. I also have a scar on my leg so I like to look after my skin anyways.

1) Keep moisturised.

2) Try to loose weight slowly, doctors recommend no more than 2pounds a week. It gives your skin time for the elasticity to adjust to your new shape!

3) Keep hydrated at all times. Everyone knows the pinch test, if your not hydrated your skin wont be in good condition so its more likly to scar, stretch marks, sag ect ect

4) Work on your muscle! If you are on a strict calorie diet you can loose muscle as well as fat. If you are exercising you will built back thelost muscle giving your body an all over healthier shape and look.

Hope that helps a little!

And at the end of the day if you do get loose skin due to weight loss, it is the lesser of two evils, being overwieght is linked to all sorts of scary diseases and issues, diabetes, heart disease, the list goes on! Loose skin can be easily hidden under clothes. But if you really were unhappy, surgury is always an option if you need it. ...and if you are in the UK, i'm sure the NHS would cover it if your loose skin was bad enough to effect your quality of life.

I have a lot of information about this, it's not more elasticity that you need it's tightness

Weight resistance this helps A LOT. This brings in your skin and tightens it this is the main thing that will help, it might take a long time but this is the main thing that will help

Supplements to take

-MSM (tightens skin and fixes stretch marks

-Collagen (same thing)

-Vitamin C (creates new tissues)

-Copper (same thing)

-Hyaluronic acid (helps skin retain more water)

Topicals (external)

-Rub with a cotton ball a mixture of 1/2 apple cider vinegar 1/2 water on your lose areas this will help to tighten it

-Lotions with the supplements I listed above in them

-Witch hazel (does the same thing as apple cider vinegar)

feel free to ask me anything if you like, I worked at GNC for 4 years and have been a self experiment for hundreds of things over the years so I know what works or I have studied it

Body brushing is excellent for tightening up the skin. Carole Maggio has a sisal mitt which you can buy and this has worked really impressively for me.
