Loose a little and maintain for the next 6 years!

Thanks to a friend of mine for introducing me to this forum.

I am 34, 5'2" and weigh 124.6 lb as of today 1/21/13.

I started counting calories two weeks before New Year's and been eating 1200 calories or less since then. I had a couple of days where I ate close to 1500 calories. I did not weigh myself when I started but my best guess is that I must have been 127 lb.

I would like to weigh 118 lb and maintain it till I am 40. Well, I will make plans for my 40's later for I have no idea what's in-store for me....

Today is the first day I did some exercise for 15 min, you can otherwise put me in the category "inactive"!

So what I ate so far today?

60 cal (Morning Tea with 2% Milk and Sugar)
150 cal (1 Small pancake with banana, kiwi on the side)
200 cal (3/4 cup honey nut cheerios "one of my addictions" with 120 ml 2% Milk)
170 cal (1 Slice Whole Wheat bread with 1/3 avocado)
100 cal (Pretzels with mixed nuts)
Planning for a 300 cal dinner to close the deal for today!

I eat my last meal before 6.30 PM and drink only water till 7.30 AM next morning..

My exercise for the day is 100 body-weight squats.

Honestly, I am not doing anything more than that unless I start gaining weight for some strange reason.

I finished my dinner at 6.25 PM. Ate little over than planned 350 cal instead of 300 cal.

Total calories for the day: 1080. Ate some carrots, persian cucumbers and broccoli a bit before dinner.

Actually, I have two kids 6 and 4.. so I am making a new habit of cutting 3 fruits for breakfast and leaving them on the table (they disappear really fast) and then cut about 3 or more vegetables before dinner and make some kind of design in a plate and leave them for the kids to grab them.. It's working out quite well..

Good Night you all and hope to see you a bit lighter tomorrow!

Welcome to the forum cand0r. At your size, I'd also try and set some non-weight related benchmarks as well. You could probably gain two pounds and wind up in much better physical shape because you may have gained more muscle than you lost fat.

So maybe waist measurements, and the occasional fitness test may help motivate you and track your progress on non-scale related areas.

Another beautiful day here in the Orange County...

I checked my weight as usual but I will be posting it only on Mondays.

My quads are killing me today(I haven't done any exercise for a year and half until now).

I am planning on doing the same 100 squats and eat around 1100 calories today.

I will probably update food around 3ish today.

I actually did 110 body weight squats today..

Done with all the food for the day at 6 so here it goes..

60 Cal (Morning Tea with 2% Milk and Sugar)
290 Cal (1 cup Oatmeal Squares with 120 ml 2% Milk)
0 Cal (1 large glass of herb tea)
180 Cal (1 Smart Tortilla with moong lentils cooked with tomatoes and onions)
110 Cal (1/2 Kiwi, 1/2 Tiny Pear, 1/4 Apple, 2 Cashews, 2 Walnuts, 3 Almonds)
150 Cal (1 banana, 10 Pretzels)
350 Cal (Small portion of left-over biryani with plain yogurt)

I guess it all comes 1140 or something.. Banana was extra in the diet today but I felt like having those extra calories for today.

Also, 1000 is probably too less so I may end-up around 1200ish going forward...

I had a bad day yesterday - nope not food or exercise wise - but my mood wise..

60 cal (Morning Tea with the usual stuff)
200 cal (Donut holes with 1 medium black coffee)
200 cal (1/2 cup rice with brinjal curry)
100 cal (1 single serve smartpop popcorn with large glass of herb tea)
40 cal (1 tiny pear)
250 cal (1.5 cup honey nut cheerios with 2% milk)
40 cal (2 small pieces of dark chocolate)

I did a 3-mile walk for my exercise.. no squats though.

Week 2 on the forum, my weight today is 122.4 lbs.

Sticking to 1200 calories or less per day and doing light exercise.

Thank you, Bindu.

Haven't been much on the forum to update foods etc but pretty much eating a similar diet to stay around 1200 cals or less. Also, taking my multi-vitamin..

Planning to post weekly weight and will see if I can be around for a bit more.
