Hello everybody. I joined this website/forum, because I'm looking to change my overall lifestyle. I don't eat very well and I don't really exercise except for my normal routine which is going to school in the morning 5 days a week and working roughly 20-30 hours a week. I've realized that in order for me to live a long and happy life I need to change the way I live. Some background information about myself:
- I turned 19 in October
- I'm about 5'6" and weigh close to 155 lbs.
- My diet has mostly consisted of food that is easy to make or quick to get.
(Fast Food, Pizza, Ordering out from restaurants, microwaveable food, etc...)
- I basically have no muscle definition or toneness, my arms are small, my stomach is a little flabby, etc...
- This and other factors in my past have actually led me to being clinically depressed. I am currently taking Cymbalta 60mg every morning and I also take adderall everyday to help me get through daily activities.
Goals:
- To basically enhance the quality of my life which will include nutrition, fitness, and mental health among other things.
I recently joined a Gym, but have not yet gathered the energy or confidence to bring myself. Part of the reason is that I know even if I do go to the gym I still have a terrible diet and I wouldn't see results anyway. Also if I went to the gym I wouldn't even know where to start. Any advice/tips that can help me get started on my road to a happier, healthier life are greatly appreciated. If anyone has any questions that would help you get a better understanding of my lifestyle, and what I need to do to improve, please feel free to ask. Thanks and I'm looking forward to getting started.
P.S.- I will also be keeping a log, starting tomorrow, in the forum to track my daily progress.
