Hello Everyone,

My name is Rachel. I am 19 and I live in Columbus, Ohio. I am pretty much the only one in my family, including my extended family, who cares about fitness. I find it really helpful to talk to others about what has worked for them. I am in a healthy weight range for my height (I am 4"10" and average about 115 lbs,) but I still have some goals for myself.

1. I want to lose fat
2. I want to tone my stomach and lose the love handles
3. I want to tone my butt and thighs
4. Most importantly I want to be healthy

I hope to gain some insight, learn some new tips, and benefit from others' experiences! Thank you in advance for your help!

Rachel

Welcome Rachel! :)

Did you know that goals 1, 2, & 3 of yours are all the same?

Toning is a function of fat loss. ;)

I appreciate your commitment to yourself. I beleive you need to surround yourself with positive influences to reach your goals. Which means, the correct food and the correct attitudes. Let your family members that know that you have goals and need their support. You need the correct food around the house and can't have them eating junk food in the house. If that isn't reasonable, tell them not to eat it in front of you. You need to remove the temptation. It is too hard to do it with willpower alone.

hey, our goals are basically the same. have you ever played ddr?(dance dance revolution? if not, you should check it out. it has a workout mode so you can set how many calories you want to burn a day, and you just dance along with the game, like the one they have in arcades. know what i'm talking about? i think it is such good exercise, and great for when it's too cold for a walk.

It is so funny that you mentioned DDR. I LOVE to play DDR. My sister got it a couple weeks ago because she hates to exercise! I go over to her house to play every chance I get! I have been trying to find a cheap PS2 system so I can play it at my house!
