Hi I am new to posting, I usually read... I have a delima
I lost 132 pounds during the past 2 years and the last 6 months I am stuck at the same weight. I purchased an elliptical and work out almost every evening for 30 minutes but still stuck. Anyone have this problem? What's a fella to do... 6 months and nothing.
I have mixed it up a bit with weights but nothing seems to work. I still have over 100 pounds to go so I am not close to goal weight.

Have you tried HIIT

HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training.
If you haven't tried this already, you might give it a chance. I do it 2-3 times a week, and it adds a whole new dimension to my cardio workouts. It could be that your body is so used to the routine that you have, it just isn't doing as much good anymore.

Congrats on the incredible weight loss so far!

Also,
What does your diet look like?

Not a diet, I actually have been using the Glycemic index as a guide. I don't eat white flour or sugar. Wheat flour and just eating more veggies than carbs. I figure I had to teach myself to like the better foods and fill my plate with them because filling my plate with carbs was my problem. I just make better choices, for example:
Cottage cheese vs Yogurt
Egg whites vs Eggs
lean meat vs Fatty read meat
Fish vs Meat
water vs soda
Keep my sugar intake down and exercise more... Thats my problem I am still over weight and don't like to exercise but I push myself.
I figure some day you have to come off of your diet, then what happens?
So I am actually learning to eat properly again.

Grats on your start!!

Veggies are carbs =p but they are the good ones.

It would help to know what kindo of veggies/fruits you are eating... alot of people eat lots of veggies that are actually not good for weight loss, but good for maintaining a weight, or even gaining weight (bananas come to mind, possibly the best fruit in the world but the calories come almost entirely from sugar).

The best veggies to eat are; romain lettuce, spinach, peppers (bell peppers, all varieties), artichokes, eggplant.

My number one tip for people who get stuck, KICK IT UP A 'NOTCH!!! What I mean by that is eat HOT foods, hot as in spicey. The best bet is to try a indian menu one day, maybe two days a week, and perhaps hot mustard instead of plain. Dont over do it, spicey foods can be bad for your organs in to great of moderations.
