After decades of weight loss programs and products, I've finally come to the conclusion that "common sense" is the only
real answer to life long weight control. Your weight control has to be a "lifestyle", something you do everyday of your
life. Thirty years in medicine taught me that short term "band aids" never, never work.
So, here's the road I'm taking. I hope it will help some of you also.
THE MOST IMPORTANT SECRET TO LOSING WEIGHT
Probably a lot of you will squirm a little and wish they didn’t have to get into what I’m going to tell them.
YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR HEAD SCREWED ON RIGHT.
That sounds a little ominous. But I encourage you to give this a go. It’s not that hard. And, once you get into this, you’ll really find it fun. You’re about to make some great discoveries about yourself.
Whenever we set a goal, we have to have a plan. So, before we really set out on a serious weight loss direction in our lives, we need to set a flight plan. We need to know where we’re going and how we’re going to get there. This is kind of like our own personal flight plan to our ideal weight.
Like anything in our lives we absolutely won’t be able to accomplish a thing without getting our brain wrapped around our plan and what it will do for us and our loved ones. We need to take a short journey into the areas of our life that will help us on our way.
If our mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional liv are a mess, we need to get those in order before we can even think about attempting anything like a weight loss program.
A short but intense “fix it†period is what we need.
Here’s what I want you to do. One quiet week end night, get together with your partner and open a really good bottle of wine. The two of you sit down and go over the following areas of your lives on a separate sheet of paper. List down the various areas of your life like mental, physical,
spiritual etc….Write down where you want to be in each of those areas 1 year from that night.
While you do this, I want you pretend that there is a Santa Claus and that changes you write down will be accomplished. Do this as though they are already a done deal. This simple act will be your “flight plan†for weight control and for your future life.
Be sure to keep this flight plan in a safe place. And, in 1 year , pull it out and see how far you have come. You will be astounded!
