Loneliness but reaching out

Hi, my name's Hazle and I'm ready to lose weight and get confident. I had my last taste of junk food today and I'm ready to get started on losing the weight! I'm ready and determined to do this! Here's my story on how I gained the weight:

Since moving out from a depressing situation at home and out on my own I thought things would get better...but I was wrong. Despite being unhappy when living with my family I managed to keep the weight off but since moving out I gained 14-15 lbs! I went from 128 lbs to 144 lbs since February 2009. It's funny how the problems that I had living at home seem so much bigger now then when I lived with my family. My family spited me for moving out, my first boyfriend ever cheated on me, and my best friend and I drifted apart, as a result the loneliness and self hatred got worse. Oh, and I don't have that many friends because I lack confidence.

Hi! Welcome to the forum... I'm sure you will find a lot of motivation and support here! I find it is best to focus on yourself and improve your life/health when in rough situation... it makes things a lot easier. And to surround yourself w/ positive people!

Good luck w/ your journey :)

Thank you! Since a lot of the people I know dislike me I'm going to surround myself with the positive people here on this forum.

Hi Hazel.

I will tell you that a BIG part of success is having a positive attitude. People will reflect back on you the attitude you show them ... so if you can, work on being more positive. :)

Welcome to the forum! Hope you can find some of what you're looking for here. I know how it can get lonely. I moved away from my family and friends and boyfriend for school and it makes things a lot worse. Things will always get better, you just have to work on them :)

I'm going to start taking better care of myself!

We're glad to hear it, J2T. I think you are definitely on a good track here that will help you a lot. I know the 1st benefits I can notice when I switch from bad diet and lazy to good diet and active is an increase in self-esteem and feelings of well-being. If there is anything we can do to help you along the way please let us know. Best luck!
