Little voices

Last night, I was on the cross-trainer after my weights doing about 45 mins cardio. After about 20 minutes or so, I was beginning to struggle, energy was down and I was sweating like a pig!

Then I heard the voices in my head (not literally) saying "Why don't you just stop? You could have a nice warm shower and go home, wouldn't that be so much easier than finishing your 45 minutes?!" I somehow managed to push through and finish my set time.

Now, I can't be the only one to hit these annoying cardio walls every now and then so, how do you cope with them? What gets you through? Or, do you just quit and have that shower? ;)

Whoa, a little voice in your head?
Dude, that's some f*(#$)(& up stuff.
===================
I was actually doing cardio yesterday...

I was on the tredmill for about 10 minutes already going about 6.5mph.
So I thought, well, I'm bulking, so do I really need to waste this much effort doing this for 20 minutes?

Then I just thought to myself; "Whatever. This is pretty easy".

...and continued running. Although in a sense it wasn't hard, it's just when I say this to myself, it becomes easier.

I talk back to those voices out loud. People start looking at you with cocked heads and worried eyes. I grin at them and this cheers me up and I keep on truckin'.

Where the hell did you come from?!?!?! lol, it's been a while.

I have voices too. They say, 'Why'd you stop at 10 reps? You could have gotten twelve! Why'd you just go parallel to the ground, you could have gone ass to grass??'... Then I tell my dad to shut up. lol:p

I get them all the time, but it's usually at the start. Just getting into whatever I'm doing. then at the end , when you start to really tire, I think about stopping, then realise it's stupid as I'm nearly done.

the majority of time I just keep going I tell myself whats 5 or 10 more minutes of my time doing this and before I know it the time has passed and i feel so much better because I didn't give up....
