one drink a day is supposed to be good for your brain, but apart from that alcohol is the most calorie dense food in existence and has no nutritional value as far as I know. so downing a six pack definately bad

It's not just the calories that drag you down, but its the alcohol itself.
Alcohol in a sense sends fat stores to the back of the line for a source of energy. Stored fat is obviously no good
and fat can be stored up to 48 hours after the consumption of the alcohol too.
