Lifting with small sores

The last time I worked out was Sunday and my chest and triceps hurt until yesterday, so I had a 4 day rest.

I really want to work out today, but my triceps hurt a LITTLE, barely enough to notice.

Is it still OK to work out if I have a little soreness.

Like benches, rows, etc.

Yes, working out with soreness is okay, when proper rest was given--as long as its delayed onset soreness. Sometimes stretching, etc, and getting the old stale blood out and in with some new, will lesson the soreness.

To this very day, my chest muscles get sore after a workout ( I dont mess around in the gym :) ), off all my muscle groups, it is the one that can take the LEAST pounding (so, if it takes less,,,,,great!, I just back off and do less to get the job done in accordance to what my body is telling me)

As long as its not something else, working through soreness once in awhile will not hurt you.......just give proper rest, and have proper diet.

sore is such a vague term. i prefer 'achey' or 'stiffness' to describe it. sore shouldn't mean 'pain'...if it does you're doing too much, or you've actually hurt yourself.

but still feeling a little tight or stiff, or that bit of an ache that doesn't hurt but just tells you its there....that's what DOMS should feel like, and it will range from bad one day to mild the next.

the fact that after 4 days you still felt 'sore'...you might be over doing it.

Alright.

Well, my dad spotted me that day and I was doing my deadlifts at 165 (that's all the weight we've got) and he was like, "bench that sh*t" and I did 3 sets consisting of 12, 8, and 5 reps.

I don't plan on doing that again.
