lifting weights multiple times per day

if i do a workout for say...my chest and shoulders is my day one...and it only lasts for 15-20 minutes with moderate intensity...would it hurt my recover process if i lifting a little more later in the day? im never tired or worn out after a
workout so i always feel like doing another but stop myself because i think it might affect my recovery...

working the same muscles like that spread out is NOT a good idea. the muscles are already trying to recover at that point, and you mess them up again.

One proper workout is all it should take.
And soreness is NOT an indication your workout was good. Feeling a little stiff the next day, sure, but you shouldn't be in any sort of pain.

im just wondering if i DONT feel stiff...sore...worn out...or anything the next day, should i increase the intensity or length of the workout?

Neither one of those is a good indication. You definately should not feel worn out the next day.

Soreness can be attributed to bad form or a new exercise, so it's no good.

Same for stiffness.

you could use that approach for a weak point but only one muscle at once...you would also need to have a good 3yrs consistent wts experience so as to have the tolerance for it...you would also need an abundance of cals for recovery and not train the next day for full recovery...otherwise train harder but not longer

do your workouts at the end of the day

if you feel you arent working enough bump up the weight a bit

i personally do a grease the groove(gtg) program with pull ups and chin ups
as explained by Pavel Tsatsouline

do single sets of one particular exercise a no of times at different times of the day. restrict the reps to 5 or below

for more info google 'grease the groove'

I know plenty of people that work out twice a day, but that are ADVANCED. They know their stuff. It definately would NOT recommend it for some relatively new gym go-ers.

As far as the 15-20 minute workout, no soreness, not being worn out, etc etc...well a 15-20 minute workout doesn't seem right to me. It seems like you aren't going to hit the muscle enough in that amount of time. Unless you are just beginning, then soreness won't normally come unless you incorporate a new exercise into your routine. You don't want to be exhausted the next day. That normally means that you didn't get enough sleep or you aren't eating enough.
