First off, i'm 16, 5"11, 150lbs.
I eat really healthy all around, and I used some method out of a nutrition book to figure how many calories I needed a day, it said about 2000 to stay at my weight, up it to bulk, decrease it to go down.. I generally get 1500 - 2000 a day at present.
I'm getting a incline bench, decline bench, leg bench, and a inclined sit up bench from my school which they no longer need.
I'm going to start lifting ALOT more then I do at present, which is alot of dumbell and bodyweight excersises.
I'm starting track tomorrow, which will be 4x days a week of an hour cardio after school, then I will be coming home and weight training.
Now, my question is 1, doing both, how many calories should I consume?
Second, if I were to eliminate essentially all cardio out of my workouts(quitting track, and jogging), and just did weightlifting, would I gain significant fat weight, or have to decrease calorie consumption?
Right now, I don't need to lose weight.. I'm fairly fit, but i'm not all that into track, and I enjoy weight lifting more so I figured it would be nice to dedicate most of my time to that instead of doing track.
Thanks.
