I used to be at my ideal weight and in great shape but lately have not been taking care of myself and don't seem to care.

I have a desk job, sit around all day, come home exhaused, lie around all night. I don't get much exercise and don't care what I eat as long as I eat. I gained about 40 lbs in the past 5 years.

I used to exercise regularly and refused to eat anything unless it had some nutritional value. I got way off the path and hope to get back on, but one baby step at a time, I can't deal w/ the idea of doing everything perfect all at once. My first goal for now is to stay off sugar. Next, keep a diary or some kind of keeping track and paying attention to what I eat. Next, cut down the amount, cut down the fat, cut out the salt, progress towards healthier eating. Next would be starting to incorporate exercise. My hope is as I eat better I will develop more energy to exercise. I think getting enough sleep will also figure in with my success, as well as dealing w/ stress, creating a balance in life.

So: to start off my diary: what I ate today:

1 can of evaporated goat milk in my coffee, 2 cups of tea, cereal (24 fat grams entire can)
Breakfast: an ensure
Lunch: 2 pizza slices, left the crust (about 1/4 of the pizza)
Snack: large lollipop
Dinner: 3 taco shells, lots of cheese, chicken, lettuce
Dessert: bowl of raisin bran

Anyone looking at this is probably appalled at the amount I ate today, but the good news is, this is less than I've been eating over the holidays and all the cookies, chocolate, and candy I've been eating over the holidays is missing from the list.

So this is actually GOOD. Off to a start. M2L
 
Today I kind of screwed up. To preface, I have about $15 in my wallet, negative bank balance, don’t get paid till Friday, and have very little food in the house (no milk, etc.)

So I went to work w/ some powder goat milk for my coffee, leftover lasagna, and leftover salad. No breakfast. Someone put a cake out at work. Since I didn’t have any breakfast, I took a huge piece for breakfast.

As I was eating it I felt really sick so I threw it away before eating too much, but I did have several spoonfuls of pure sugar, which my initial goal was to stay off of.

I decided to eat my lunch for breakfast after that and save the salad for lunch. Other than that I had tea, coffee, dinner was chicken & veges (leftovers in fridge) and a bowl of raisin bran for dessert.

Not too bad. It will be hard to get thru the next 2 days w/ no healthy food around. Being broke sux.
 
Food diary for today:
Breakfast - 2 glasses of maple syrup diet lemonade

Lunch - Slimfast - only because I forgot to go to the cafeteria at work because I was so busy and got sidetracked, by the time I went it was closed early due to holiday scheduel. Snack shop closed due to holiday schedule. Only thing in desk to eat was one can of Slimfast.

Snack: glass of maple syrup diet lemonade

Dinner: 1/2 sandwich my man friend bought and split w/ me

Snack: 2 bowls of raisin bran

Well at least there were no candies, cakes, cookies, or chocolates.

I didn't have dinner yet but I've lost my appetite so not too concerned about overdoing it tonight. I just wanted to get my diary entry in because I want to get off the computer. I work on it all day, I'm sick of it.

Add: late night snack: 2 lean pockets

Food diary for today:
Breakfast: cookies, macaroni and cheese

Lunch: cookies, cheeseburger

Dinner: turkey tacos, macaroni and cheese

I blew it w/ the cookies.. once again went to work w/ no breakfast and no $$
 
I can't remember my food diary the last few days. The only sugar I remember having is last night I skipped dinner and had 2 cookies someone had to celebrate something.

I just got a new puppy and probably can't get online every day/don't have time to write in my food diary every day, but here goes for today:
Breakfast: eggwhite, sausage, and cheese sandwich
Lunch: bowl of chili
Dinner: chicken leg + microwave veges
Snack: ensure

That's it, too tired to eat anymore today ... be back whenever.
