leg help

i'm going to start off saying that i know you can't "spot reduce", so there may be no answer to my question. I used to play soccer and basketball for years, which of course built up my thighs to be what i consider WAY TOO BIG. Now i'm not playing anymore and even though my thighs still are muscular, they have a large amount of fat on them. I know if i wanted to bulk my thighs up again i could just work on weight training but i dont want that. What i'd like is for my thighs to get smaller, not bigger. Sometimes i feel like im doing the wrong thing if i'm out running or weight training cuz i dont want them to get bigger. Any help/suggestions?

First, you need to concentrate on your diet and cardio. You probably know what is good for your body and what is bad at this point so I will not post a diet (if you need me to just ask, however). Steadily paced cardio workouts will contribute little to making your thighs larger. You probably have a lot of fat AND muscle on your thighs, so I would suggest doing around 5-6 cardio sessions per week. This should be steadily paced, long distance cardio. This should in turn burn a lot of the fat and much muscle away from your thighs.

This main not be much of custructive help, but try training for a marathon ... look how skinny most of those guys are (and i'm referring to the winners, as I know there are a lot of them who aren't).
