Leaning

ok im posted lots of posts on here but i realise ive asking too much...so im gonna focus on one step of my goals at a time...

so first leaning down:

Im 21 weigh about 13 stone. 5ft 11. been to the gym a bit but u could class me as a rookie...

looking to lose my beer belly (not huge...its just...there) and burn fat with the future goal of a slight bulk with toning not looking to get 'big'.

so

1: what exercises should i be doing to achieve the above? i was thinking of an intense cardio with a bit of muscle work on machines initially.

2: how do i know when to stop leaning and start bulking? i dont have a set weight in mind at the mo and i dont know my body mass/fat index.

oh and any diet tips would be useful on this thread:

You can either do or HIIT or fasted cardio...

So, are you a morning person? Do you prefer interval training or steady state?

Get a goal. If your a little on the chubby side, say something like 15% BF as your goal, then worry about bulking. Or just bulk now, then cut later.

Diet - Complex carbs in the morning up to midday, plenty of protein and then get your good fats in with them both. Six meals a day, one serving being - rule of thumb - a handful.

...and work out your BF %. Scales lie.

thanks for the replay

ok defo not a morning person.

im easy with regards steady / interval

i think i prefer leaning now then bulking up later...

My BMI is around 25 - 28 so im officially overweight.

with regards the diet...bit more help needed: what do u mean by complex carbs?

and do u mean 6 servings a day or 6 meals made up of servings? if that makes sense. (im thinking u mean a handful of food with protein, handful with carbs per meal etc)

he means 6 meals a day;

if you plan on leaning and then bulking, you might see that you bf% goes up a little again after you bulk up why dont u do both at the same time?

HIIT with weight lifting will get you some definition at least
