lats

Chinups, bent over rows (single and barbell), Short arm pullovers, Stiff arm pulldowns, t-bar row, cable row.

Just to name a few.

Its my day to do my back tonight, so will put it to the test hopefully, and see some improvement.

Hope i can get down tho, got to make a statement with the police tonight! (nothing to do with me, im a witness :)

Dont you train with a spotter? To help you up?

Or suppose you could do em where you only go partly the way down, till you can do 1 full rep.

hey smithmachine - when you do your lat pulldowns, what form do you use? If you are not doing the lat pulldowns correctly, it will not help with your pull up.

I've always used lat pull, when I got up to 50kg max I started on pull ups (as my body weight is 57-58). Could only do about 10 though, it's hard keeping your body vertical, I tend to have my feet go forwards alot.

Good lat form:

Bad lat form:

do you look at video of yourself or in the mirror of your form to make sure its good? I'm just asking just to make sure you are not doing anything wrong. A majority of people think they have good form, but they don't really have good form.

If i am using machines with a wire and pully system i make sure its nice and slow and never let it hang i always keep my self under stress.

If they have a pullup assistance machine, I'd try it. You'll be doing them on your own pretty quickly.

You want to make sure your arms end up full extended tho, to stretch your lats. Keeping it under stress and not letting them 'hang' will prob work your arms more than your lats.
