L- Carnitine... Does it work?

The reason why I'm asking about the L-Carnitine is Because I want to get rid of some fat stomach and my research had pointed my on L-Carnitine direction. Im 5'10 147 pounds 4 months now starting my 5th month training on the gym... Thanks!

Yes, it does work, but you should also clean up your diet and make sure it doesn't contain anything that you might be sensitive to. Also make sure that your digestion works well.

Sleep 8 h in the night.

Try to eliminate stress if you can. Try using relaxation exercises, meditation, trance etc. to lower stress hormone levels.

Don't do long cardio sessions.

All of the above are good for losing stomach fat.

Thanks for the reply! I go to the gym and also play basketball adding L Carnitine would help me then?

I didn't know the answer to this at first, but I just came across something about L-Carnitine in my textbook.

To quote: "To date there is no consistent and convincing evidence that L-carnitine supplementation enhances fat oxidation (or fat utilization) or improves exercise performance in healthy people."

It mentions that, although L-cartinine can increase your blood concentration of L-carnitine, they have seen nothing to suggest that supplementing will increase the uptake of L-carnitine by the cells.

All that being said, research into L-carnitine supplements is fairly new and inconclusive.

Here is the other option to burn your stomach fats and not to damage your liver by taking supplements such as l-carnithine:
Dont eat fatty meals, fried things esp.
Lessen daily carb taking.
Dont drink alcohol.
Eat 6 times throughout the day.
Add 30-40 minutes cardio exercise in your workout programme.

That's it...very simple ha :)

Taking carnitine supplements won't damage your liver. There's just no proven evidence that it does anything for weight loss. It won't hurt you though. It's not a drug or toxin.
