Know nothing about fitness and need help on new routine

Well I guess I can start by explaing my body type.im 5'2 103lbs. upper body is fit, abs and all from no physical activity other than breathing. LOL my main concern is my upper thighs and butt. I would basically like to loose the layers of fat in that area and tighten up.. with no gaining of mucles mass. I would also like to strengthen my heart and lungs cuz i have asthma and die from stairs hahah. Here is what i have put together for a work out
-Monday-1 hour Pilates matt & 30 min stationary bike
-Tuesday- nothing
-Wedneday-1 hour pilates reformer and cadillac (machines) & 30 min bike
-Thurday- 1 hour pilates reformer and cadillac (machines) & 30 min bike
-Friday- 1 hour yoga & 30 min bike
-Satuday- 1 hour Pilates matt
-Sunday- 30 min bike
I would liek to know if the bike is the right cardio machine for me or elliptical or stairmill, treadmill or maybe a combo ?
also as much critisizm as you all would like to add.. i know nothign about fitness so enlighten me :)

pick up some weights. cardio alone isn't gonna get you where you wanna be.

and, keep in mind, you cannot spot reduce fat...you can only shed from the entire body.

do NOT concern yourself with gaining muscle mass ok? as a lady, you lack the testosterone to put on significant amounts of muscle mass in the first place. if you don't eat to gain mass, you won't have the raw materials either. so, pick up some weights, do more than just biking (rotate with running, stairmaster, elliptical), and if you enjoy pilates, keep it up, but its not a substitute for weight training.

Start by cleaning up your diet. Fat loss is primarily a fuction of diet. As for your workout program, do not be afraid of the weights. You will not gain too much muscle, don't worry. A sound nutrition program combined with strength training and moderate cardio will get you the results you want :)

Hey i am trying to do the same as you and it's working out slowly on the fat loss in that area.

I would recomend you cut down a little on the cardio and try to get some cardio benifit from the weights. I was doing 30 mins on eliptical trainer burning 700 calories at a time and not seeing many results in fat loss, now I do 15 mins burning 350 calories and then 15 mins intensive weights working oposite muscles so as to remove the need for a rest in between and the results are much improved. This also removes the likelyhood of muscle cannibalization.

Let me know how you get on if you try it.

Agree with the others...it's ALL ABOUT diet and exercise.

If you run 10 miles and follow that up with a box of Twinkies, well........

You get the idea.
