Knee Injury

Hello

This is my 1st time here, so hello everyone :action11:

Just over a year ago, I had an incident and ended up getting floating bones in my knee. It was very difficult to walk and about 6 months later, I had keyhole surgery on it. I thought a few months after that, once all the scars had healed, that it would go back to normal and I would be able to use it normally again.

I was never offered any physiotherapy for it. Its now almost a year since I had the operation, and my knee is still not back to normal. I do alot of walking and keep trying to bend it, but bending it seems to make it worse and the pain can last for a few days. Just lately it has been hurting alot when I walk.

So now I want to get it back to normal. Ive got an exercise bike and that has been helping my knee alot. At first it was a bit painful, then it ached a bit, now it feels like its really doing it some good. Its no longer giving away when I walk and my whole leg is feeling stronger.

I just wondered if there was anyone else out there who has had a knee operation like me and can give me any advice about what exercises etc I should do, in order to be able to use it properly again?

Thanks so much :sport:

The bike sounds good. It's been a year and you had a major operation, the connection between your muscled and your PNF has diminished leading to the very weak unstable feeling. You need to make that connection stronger by doing the movements you want to achieve. Such as walking comfortably, biking, progressing to walking up and down stairs.
