I have always been abit of her fan but when I saw her on ET, showing her on Oprah at 145 lbs I neally fainted.....she looks great but she doesn't look 145 lbs to me.....more like 170 lbs.
I could be wrong but I looked like that after my preg weight at 170 and I am now 142 lbs......and as hard as I am on myself I don't look that big. I am soon 45 years old and 5.10 in height...maybe she is 5.2 :D .

Are there any females that look her weight but are heavier or are there any that are 145 lbs and think they look smaller?

Just wondering if this is more media crap.:(

well, she has come a long way, and good for her...but its always been kinda weird, I think they said at her heaviest she was an 18...um, I dont' think so!

who knows what the truth is, but she has done a really good job and its a bit motivational for me.

I was reading comments about her elsewhere, and yeah, a lot have said that she is 5'8", and others at that height would be skinnier at 145. Regardless, I think she still looks fabulous! And she's very brave to get into the bikini on Oprah!!

Everyone's body is different---even if they are the same height. She's worked hard and deserves positive words. I would really be pissed if I lost a crap load of weight and then some random person said, wow....you still look fat.

I'm in a bad mood.

I've always thought she was a beautiful woman. She looks great where she is, congrats to her for that very public and exposed weight loss journey.

Gotta tell you ladies, After reading her blog, and reading what most of you have posted here, I can say you are all on the same track. She has a head on her shoulders, And seems to be taking the right path.

Sometimes, By reading others blogs or posts we can see for ourselves if we are have the same goals and are approaching things with the same (or similar) desire.

I have faith in you all.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Kirstie Alley is 55 years old!?

She looks like she's 45, at most.

I've always loved her movies. I think she's gorgeous.

i can believe she was an 18 for a couple of reasons. i've seen myself on videotape and it is true, you look at least 10 pounds heavier. also b/c i can wear a size 20 on my waist, but i don't wear clothes on my waste. i wear them a little lower (just b/c that's how i like it) and i wear a 22 instead. so i don't know. i guess we never really will, but she has come a long way and i'd strut it too! shoot, i strut it now and i haven't even come close to my final goal! hehehhehee

I never believe celebrities when they say their weights.
Reason why I don't like that reality show with the overweight celebrities (whatever it's called). B/c the clips that I have seen of it.. some of the people will be as big as me or bigger but their weight would be ALOT less.

Anywho! Even still... good for Kirstie's weight loss! No matter what her beginning weight was and what her current weight is. She did look great on Oprah!

you're talkin' about celebrity fit club. it's funny to me. i do watch it b/c it's still motivation for me, plus i love to laugh. however, if i do watch TV i tune into FitTV, b/c there's always something on there that helps me out!
either way - anybody who loses weight - kudos!!!!!!

Watching shows like the biggest loser has helped me realize that just because someone weighs the same as me, doesn't mean we look similar.

Height does play a role, but also body composition, muscle is heavier than fat, and if someone were to just diet and not build muscle, they could still look fat and weight the same amount as someone who looks thinner but is more muscular.

I'm not a fan of Kristie Alley, but I do have to give her credit for taking control of her life - she was very heavy for awhile, and now she's looking healthy! On a side note, I saw John Goodman on TV the other day and he is not looking good at all, being overweight is part of it, but his skin was also very unhealthy looking. Some overweight people can continue to be relatively healthy, but for some people you can see in their faces that their bodies are deteriorating, like John Ritter before he died.

i saw a movie on true movies the other week with her where she played a woman who had an accident and was in awheelchair - she is so damn beautiful and intelligent and funny - she could be my role model any time i really admire her personality - her weight seems to not matter in the big scheme of things - she surpasses that - however on health grounds if she has lost some that is great news - its not easy to do certain things when you are bigger than you should be

anyhow she is an example of big is beautiful

xx

It must have been so hard for her being overweight in Hollywood. They are all so sickly skinny. It's not like she has always been big and that's her "thing", like Roseanne. She was a knockout and then gained a bunch of weight. That had to be embarrassing.

I think it's great she found a way to turn her personal struggle into something positive. I'm not the biggest fan of the prepackaged food diets (like Jenny Craig) for several reasons, but she is still a positive role model. Unlike some other women in Hollywood, she didn't just mysteriously drop a bunch of weight in a few weeks making us mere mortals feel that much more inadequate in the process. (Doesn't it feel just wonderful when we see yet another celebrity showing off a cover model body 4 whole weeks after giving birth?)

I think its a shame we have to look at each other and say she looks so heavy or she cant be that light, or is she really an 18??? i think the more we look hard at people like alley the harder people will look at us, and anyone who has ever truely struggled with weight loss knows that is not a great position to be in!;) just my opinion, i dont care what size she is, she is a beautiful person...not a number!

sleeplessinc- point taken, but we do look at that. Not only that, but we compare ourselves to one another and honestly I weigh 7 lbs less the kirstie alley and I know that I look a lot thinner then she does. Body image is important and if I had not seen a recent picture of myself, I would have felt awful if I thought I looked the same as her. Just to explain that clearly, I set high standards for myself. I know exactly what is like going from large to small but now that I have been small, being like her would be very upsetting for me. I do know what it is like going from large to her size and being happy there but I would not be now.

I agree bglittert, I was mainly interested in people that were her claimed weight like you and me to get an opinion and that it wasn't just me that thought she looked bigger (yet better than she was) than 145.;)
