Kelly's Long and Winding Road

My goals:
I want to lose between 30-20 pounds with a goal weight of around 140.
I'd like to lose at least 10 pounds before beach season hits around early April.
I want to get back running, which is something I've always enjoyed. I need to learn portion control, but mainly I need to GET OFF MY DUFF!!!

Today was probably not the best of days to get started on a weight-loss program since my family traditionally has a feast on New Year's Day, and today was no exception.
Breakfast:
A breakfast burrito (2 eggs, cheese, sausage, and the tortilla)

Lunch/Dinner: (since I didn't get out of bed until around 10:30!)
A pork chop, a small spoonful of creamed corn, 1 1/2 pieces of cornbread (my ultimate weakness!), a spoonfull of mixed veggies, a good bit of cranberry sauce, and the kicker- three scoops of black-eyed peas (I just had to find that darn dime!)

And later:
A slice of berry pie with a dollup of cool whip

The good: I did only drink water besides a glass of V8 Splash for breakfast. I walked about 3/4 of a mile after supper, and later I got on the gazelle for 30 minutes.

Today was not good, and it's only my second day! I can see this is going to be an uphill battle. Old habits are die hard, and I'm having trouble breaking them. It also doesn't help that my mother is one of the best cooks this side of the Mississippi and isn't afraid to prove it! I know things will get better once I get back to school, but the hard part is controlling myself until then. I have a nasty habit of hating to see things go to waste, so I'm going into save mode trying to finish up stuff that only I usually eat before I leave. It's not really bad stuff, I'm just eating a lot of it.

I did do exercise, of sorts- walking around in stores and the mall. I know that doesn't really count. I'm just feeling tired and lazy, and since I'm about to go to bed it's a little too late to be thinking about exercise. I hope this doesn't throw me all out of whack.

Breakfast- Got up late, so it was a bit hurried
A serving size of dry cinnamon life
A probably 10 oz glass of V8 Splash

Lunch- Fast food, ugh. Not the best thing when you're starting a diet
Chicken Caesar wrap with a raspberry vinegarette
A medium lemonade (I can't resist Chick-fil-a's lemonade!)

Dinner-
Pretty much the same as yesterday (leftovers, yay!) with the potions cut in half

Dessert-
That dang berry pie is killing me! Luckily it's almost gone

Overall, not a very good day.

I think anytime your moving it's a good thing. Once you get rid of those pies it'll just get better lol.

I want to get back running,
when you have a chance - Google "from couch to 5K" - it's a pretty decent running plan to get you frombeing a couch potato (which it doesn't sound like yoou are) to runing a 5K race...

Thanks maleficent! I'll have to check that out.

Today was a bit better. I didn't do any "excercise" again because I was doing construction work with my contractor-father, which is a total body workout in its own right. If anyone wants to get a job that helps you lose weight, construction is for you! lol And I have more good news- the pie is GONE! Haha!

Breakfast:
Slightly stale crispix (ugh! I would have fed them to the dog, but there wasn't much else to eat!)

Lunch:
Turkey and bacon sandwich on wheat, no mayo
Carrots
The last of that darn pie
A cup of hot chocolate

Dinner:
A Chick-fil-a chicken sandwich (Hey, it was free! What college student can resist free food?)
That glorious lemonade that tastes so magically wonderful
