Katiedid's diary... Time to lose weight for good!

Welcome to my diary everyone :)

My name is Katie and I recently joined the forum. I started my weight loss program two weeks ago and so far I am feeling great! My starting weight was 135, and my goal weight is 115.

Last thursday I weighed my self and I was down to 131.6. I haven't noticed much additional loss this week.

I have been going to the gym 6 days a week, and three days a week have been strength training. On saturday I signed up with a personal trainer, so starting thursday I will be meeting with him twice weekly. I have been eating between 1300 and 1500 calories daily.

The main thing that I am working towards is permanent weight loss along with a lifestyle change where I eat better and am more active. I used to be a professional dancer and had to stop dancing two years ago when I injured myself. I got really depressed for a while, stopped being active, and became a couch potatoe. I am hoping to get my old body back and get rid of these extra 20 lbs for good!
 
welcome! i am also new to this forum, i just made a diary a few days ago. check it out! it's "inspired, motivated, and READY!!" i'm doing the same thing as you right now as far as workouts and the caloires... so far so good. good luck!!!! :)
 
You are really doing the right thing getting this under control before it gets out of hand and that is one thing I can talk about because I was not strong enough to do it myself.

So I commend you on your effort and wish you nothing but luck.
 
Yesterday went pretty well. I went to the gym and did cardio for an hour. My total calories were 1440. Today I just had dinner and I have consumed 1315 calories. I might eat a granola bar later if I get hungry, but I am going to try not to. I am going to leave for the gym in a few minutes and hopefully get in another hour of cardio. I also drank a lot of water today and yesterday which is an improvement because I have been really bad about doing that this past week. I start working out with my personal trainer tomorrow but I'm a little nervous having really done anything like this before.

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement :). I have tried several times to take this weight off before, and it gets harder every time. I am really hoping that this time it will be for good.

This morning I weighed myself. And I'm at 130.2! That means I'm almost out of the 130's!!! I met my trainer yesterday and we had a really good session. He worked me really hard, but in a good way. I am sore this morning, but I am still planning on going over to the gym and just doing some cardio later. Yesyerday I was pretty good with my food. I ate 1365 calories and drank a ton of water. I am really happy because I think my stomach is shrinking. I am not nearly as hungry throughout the day as I was a couple weeks ago. Anyways, I'm hoping today goes as good as yesterday did :)

I've noticed that as i've changed my diet and portion sizes, that i'm not as hungry between meals and that when its time to eat, I eat less. I dont know if thats due to stomach shrinkage or just the body and mine readjusting, but i'm happy.

Ugh I am so frustrated! Yesterday I ate 1350 calories and went to the gym and did an hour of cardio burning over 600 calories. This morning I got on the scale and I'm 2.5 pounds heavier than yestetrday! Is there something wrong with my scale? That just doesn't seem right to me. The only thing that I think could have made me heavier this morning is the fact that I ate a late dinner last night, or that I didn't drink enough water yesterday. I drank 60 ounces though so I am not sure if that would be it.
