I'm 32 years old and an avid tennis player. A few years back I went from 180 lbs and gradually continued to gain until I hit 243 lbs. It's time to lose this weight! I started my diet this past Monday. I plan on eating 1600 calories per day and not watching my macros too carefully just calorie restriction with mainly healthy foods such as oatmeal, soups, chicken breast, lean pork, etc. It's now Saturday and I plan on weighing in each week on Saturdays I would like to get to 200 lbs in the next 4 months and back to 180 in around 6 months. I play tennis for cardio and also plan to start doing some additional exercising. Anyways, I figured creating a diary would make me accountable to something and help me stick to my diet. I plan on eating one cheat meal per week on the weekend. Questions and comments are welcome!! Thanks for viewing!!!

Starting Weight : 243 lbs
Week 1 Results - 238 lbs

Hi, Justin & welcome to the forum. Well done on losing 5 lbs already :) It's great that you are an avid tennis player. It is such an active sport. Starting a diary is a great idea. It's good for motivation & is good to go back to. You sound confident in your ability to succeed, so that should hold you in good stead. I'm sure you'll get lots of support. This is a very friendly & supportive forum. Cheers, Cate

Hey Justin and welcome to the diaries! Having a sport you enjoy (and will feel the benefits of weightloss in very clearly as you go) is tremendously helpful. I think you could probably eat 1800 kcal/day and still lose a kilo a week for now (which is already a lot) but all that depends on how exactly you´re tracking as well. Good luck and I hope we´ll hear from you regularly.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I initially tried 1800 calories per day but I generally eat one cheat meal a week so with that in mind I decided to take it down to 1600 per day to make up for that. Now that my stomach has shrunk I'm used to it :)
