Hello all!
I did a little search for a weight loss forum and found this one so I signed up! This is about the...4th forum I belong to...addicted much? Not sure I can keep up with all these.
Anyway, here's my story.
I have lost 64 pounds since last March. I started out with walking to and from work and often before and/or after work. I was also watching what I ate. It helped that I was taking a migraine medication that had appetite suppression as a side effect. In fact, that's kind of why I started. I figured if that was a possible side effect of the medication then I was going to get off my ass (can I say that?) and meet it halfway.
I now do aerobics 4 days a week through a class my company offers at the Y, at no cost to me. After the first of the year I decided to join the Y and do the treadmill on Friday mornings, the day we don't have the class. I usually go up either Saturday or Sunday and work out as well. Haven't done both days...yet.
Wait, I take that back, I did this weekend, for the first time.
Now, with food it's gotten to the point where I can't eat very much. I eat less than half of what I used to because I simply can't eat it. I get full on much less. I eat healthier, but I also allow myself 'indulgences' I have ice cream sometimes, chocolate, etc., but it is in moderation and I figure if I don't allow myself to have it, I'll want it all the more. I have found I want it less...interesting side effect.
I am about 31 pounds away from my first 'big goal', that will get me back to where I was when I first moved here to Minnesnowda and back into the clothes in the back of my closet.
After that I will set my next goal.
