Just got body fat test...

Yesterday I got a body fat test (water tank). I weigh 168.5lb with 14.3% body fat (so 144.4lb of lean, 24.1lb of fat). On the chart the reccommended lean body mass for 6'4 is 148-191lb. I have been lifting every other day with most muscles and dieting well, getting lots of protien(started it all a month ago). So far I haven't gained any weight on the scales, but I am definately gaining strength and muscle, and seems like I am losing fat. I thought that when trying as I am that you usually gain fat along with lean mass? Also how long do you think it takes to add like 20lb to lean mass with my working out? Thank you for any answers or insight.

well you usually gain fat when you gain mass, but not always. you may just be blessed with a fast metabolism.

well, 20 lbs of pure lean mass takes a while...however, bear in mind that 20 lbs. of pure lean mass is a huge change. i cant really give you a straight answer for how long it takes...there are just too many variables involved. however, keep lifting consistiently, and properly, and i will guarantee that you will see positive gains.

If you are loosing weight (fat), then there is a chance you aren't eating enough. You don't want to loose fat and still try to build mass because you won't reach your full potential in building mass.

How many calories and carbs should i be eating a day? I get at least around 150g of protien a day, but havent really been counting calories and carbs.

I can't really say how much you should be eating. I dont know much about you like your metabolism and things like that. I would consult a dietitian, or eat what you think is right.
