Excited to start a new beginning. :). Any tips on low budget dieting? Just cutting back in general and adding A LOT more water to my diet is my first goal. Working in a restaurant makes this hard, but anything is possible, and I'm ready. :D.

Some befores... Starting at about 230.

I'm the one in the black/purple shirt.

Hi there! I'm pretty new here too (but I've been a lurker since January). Good luck to you on your weight loss journey! Being on a budget definitely sucks - I feel your pain. But you might be surprised... all of that junk food is really expensive! Look for sales on meats and produce. I have like a ton and a half of chicken in my freezer lol. I just wait for a sale and then buy a lot of it :) It's easy to get carried away in the beginning and buy lots of fruits and veggies... try to plan your meals out so you know exactly what you'll need for the week. I think you'll be less likely to buy tons of stuff and have it go bad. Hope this helps you!!!

Thanks for the advice! Very helpful. I love chicken. :). You can never go wrong with it... lol.

& I'm 5'7"! Thanks ya'll! I'm excited about the journey.

yam(sweet potato) and butternut squash and good rolled oats (not the kind you find for baking, look in the cereal isle instead) are tasty, filling, slow burning, and cheap :) id get more of those rather than fruit. I agree that buying things like chicken legs in multi packages is easy and cheap. I buy a 5 pack and throw them all in the oven at once and make multiple meals out of the food. For the restaurant, i'd suggest you always bring your own food so that way you don't have an excuse to eat there...

I find trail mix really good. Nice source of protein and the good kind of fat for post-workout. Prices totally vary but I've seen these nice big mixes (enough nuts for about a week and a half to two weeks of daily snacks worth) for about 5$!

Trail mix is yummy! But I always find myself eating more than I should. Portion controoool, blah!

I wish they'd let us bring our own food... stupid anti- outside food policy. :\. Looks like I'm stuck with sneaking corn tortillas. Lol.

Thanks everybody! Very useful information.
