Jump rope

I know there's been a few posts here about this, but just clearly, is vigorus jump rope in intervals for about 30 mins+ good for burning fat and getting ripped instead of jogging?

Hiya Tim. Personally, I don't think that jump rope is particularly good for intervals. Main reason is I'm not very good at it!! I find that I catch my feet with the rope at least once a minute if not more so, the stop/start nature doesn't lend itself to the periods of intensity required for intervals. If you have good technique and can skip at a high intensity for prolonged periods, it would be as good as any other kind of cardio for intervals.
As general cardio though, it is excellent.

Thanx, well, i do 300 reps and 8 sets of them. I do it fast, and often i get to about 200 before i make a mistake! I rest for about 40 + or - seconds. And, yeh, for about 30 mins.
 
I have been trying to get better at jump roping, i still just suck at it ha but trying to get better. I still get a good workout from it. I do it with my kickboxing, that and jumping jacks.
 
Lol, yup, I give my brain a workout!

Kickboxing rocks! But unfortunatley i don't have the time to do it.
