Jump Rope vs. Running

It's getting cold and wet out and I'm a wuss! I want to stay in the comfort of my garage.

I started H.I.I.T. for my running and it's going pretty well - I would say I am in the middle of conditioning in my running. I was thinking of switching to jump rope cause I can do it inside and have read a few articles on H.I.I.T. and jump rope, but my stamina/endurance with jump rope is nowhere near my running.

So what do you think? Can jump rope be just as beneficial as running - should I keep fighting the good fight?

OMG, arent you in Cali ?? I run here 365. If you want to stay indoors try kettlebells, the preferred tool of Special Forces. You will even be a better runner after using them while OFF running. Russian studies have proven that. Check them out at dragondoor.com

ps I'm not a salesman, just been using them for a while. :D

Jump roping is really good for you. Try to do without stopping for as long as you can, I guarantee you can't go as long jump roping as you can running.

I am in Cali, but I am fully climatized as I was born and raised here. That means when it's cold - i'm cold and when it rains - i'm wet. Because I am self employed, I cannot afford sick days, so I try to stay healthy.

Hmmmm.. Jump Rope vs running

At school i would keep trying to run more and more and I would have trouble. My goal was running 8 laps in 15 minutes. At the time i could barely do like 5 laps.

Jump rope is what helped me. I would jump rope in mornings and before i shower like 1000 times. Before the end of the semester I was running 2 miles in 15 minutes. What helped me is, the jump roping. It also builds A LOT of endurance!
