it's a fad diet.. anything that isn't rich in fat sources and protein sources is a diet that should never be followed. You're missing up to 60% of the calories you should be getting from these sources.

X2. You'll only gain the weight back as soon as you go off it.

Hey Joshing ... you've made several posts now asking about quick loss methods and fad diets. My honest advice to you would be to do whatever you can to break out of this "I gotta lose 10 lbs now" mentality.

There is no magic bullet. If you lose 10 lbs by drinking nothing but fruit juice or drinking nothing but lemonade and cayenne pepper or eating only grapefruit ... or whatever fad method you choose ... it will all come back when you return to your regular eating habits.

The only way you can lose weight and keep it off is to change how you eat - to eat healthy foods in reasonable quantities - and to exercise. That's the answer. It's the only answer. Anything else is just going to cause you heartache in the long run ... especially these fad diets and "detoxes".

Read the stickies on the boards about nutrition and exercise and you'll get a lot of really great info on how to eat healthily and lose weight.

Thanks KaraCooks. I'm going to attend a wedding dinner in a month's time and i'm really quite desperate to lose weight *SAD* I don't want my old school mates to see my drastic weight increase. I understand that figting weightloss is a mindset and long term game plan but its just times like this when you really want a magic pill.... Thanks again for your advice.

The biggest plus of a juicing for weight loss program
is that it adds valuable, bio-available micro-nutrients with a wealth of health benefits at a minimal calorie cost, with no dietary fat. You will be downing highly concentrated health cocktails brimming with all the enzymes, vitamins, and minerals necessary for vitality and a healthy immune system. This facilitates optimal functioning of all your body systems.

Consumers are very aware of the side-effects of appetite suppressants, but often feel that they have no other option. Fresh vegetable juice acts as a healthy, harmless appetite suppressant and craving curber, and is therefore without equal in a diet and nutrition program. By juicing for weight loss, you can opt for a glass of fresh juice before your main meal, and experience rapidly diminishing hunger.

Vegetable juice can also play an important role in stabilizing blood sugar levels, a vital factor in nutrition and good health. The sugar percentage is much lower than that of fruit juices and the calorie count is up to 50% less, yet the juice succeeds in satisfying a sweet tooth every time. This makes juicing for weight loss an absolute pleasure. Experiment with carrot or a combination of carrot and parsley juice when a craving hits you, and the juice jolt will give it a knock-out before you know it! Just don't concentrate too much on sugar-laden fruits in the process.

To simply say its a "Fad Diet" is simply WRONG. Juicing is a source of great nutrition, and a juice fast is a great way to jump start your change in life.

I started with a simple 4 day juice fast 5 weeks ago to get my body feeling better. I was 251LBs then and am now 227LBs. After the 4 days I simply but painfully chose to alter my lifestyle food choices. I now watch calories like a hawk and still juice at least 1 meal a day. My other meals are low fat and mostly consist of Veggies and Fruits. I am staying at around 1600 Calories per day. Is it hard? Of course, only people that pop pills are looking for the easy way out, but it is so worth it.

Not sure if juicing specifically will lose the weight but it can affect your overall eating habits. A full cup of fruits and vegetables for juicing not only is extremely healthy but it can also keep your stomach full.
