Yeah! Ive trained in a lot of Karate and Kung fu, and I can say that learning just a small amount of Judo and Aikido has really helped out my martial arts.
Judo and Aikido are great ways to learn body manipulation and controling an attacker.
When Judo and Aikido are practiced you see the oponent roll as they hit the floor. With a basic hip throw you swing your oponents weight over your hips and let them to roll as they hit the floor.
if you were doing this "on the street"... 1, your oponent may not know how to roll and end up crashing into the ground and 2, You dont let them drop, but you carry on the motion and force them into the floor, head first.
A fall from 4foot in the air, falling on your head, is a lot more powerfull than a punch to the face. It just depends on you being good enough to get close enough for a good throw. Which is where the fighting and grappling arts come in handy like Karate and Jujitsu.
