Joining couch to 5k

I did it, I decided to join couch to 5k. Thanks to KaraCooks for mentioning it. I sure hope I can do this, I don't think I can run for 60 seconds straight! But we'll see...I'm actually pretty excited about this, I want to see some progress and how well I will do, should be interesting.

Couch to 5k program
Starting week one @ 7-31-09
Ending week one on 8-6-09

Hi :waving:
I started this today too!
Did 5 minutes walking then 60 seconds running 90 seconds walking 60 seconds running etc for 20 mins. I hope that is correct for the first week i was in a hurry when i read it. :coolgleamA:

Good luck!

Wow, I Just completed day 1 week 1 of couch to 5k. It kicked my butt! It was tough, but not impossible. I'm glad I was able to actually do it, surprised myself. I was breathing pretty bard, and my shins are KILLING ME!

To KaraCooks:
I got the podcasts that you use. Now, should I take tomorrow off to exercise, (I'll still do strength training), the day after that I'll get back into running with couch to 5k, the day after that strength training/no running, etc. I'm just worried if I don't exercise *every* day I will not get as good of results.

One thing about the program ... don't feel like you can't slow it down if you need to.

I did week 2 for 2 weeks just because I was still struggling with it at the end of hte week.

I'm on week 5 now, but I'm on my 5th day of it - just because I really am enojoying the workout and I'm taking some time to work on speed. As soon as I can comfortably run at a 6.0, then I'll move on. :)

Good advice, I think I'm too hard on myself sometimes. I think I'll do the week one for 2 weeks, to get used to it more before I tackle week 2.
