jogging for the first time

hi guys... i started jogging 2 months ago... i started because my girlfriend notice that my stomach was getting bigger... hehe.. i got really scared and started jogging... i do jog 4 - 5 times a week at least 30 minutes each day... i do a little stretching and then start to jog slowly afterwards... my question is:

1. i'm 143lbs right now and 5'6" in height - am i too fat?
2. would jogging decrease my weight?
3. would jogging also decrease the size of my stomach?

thanks so much... replies would be very much appreciated :)

thanks

thanks so much go mango... i didn't know that diet can help a lot... it's really hard for me to change my diet... probably because of the availability of healthy food at work... would eating just leafy vegetables do the work for me? some people said that i also have to combine it with meat so that i don't get weak... thanks so much:)

As been said look at your diet. If you can clean that up im sure you'll lose the weight. Any exercise will contribute to fat loss as long as your diet is on the right track. Your stomach will flatten out in time if you stick to your workout and keep eating clean. Dont forget to change things up in your workout from time to time.I wish you the best.

thanks guys

i stopped jogging for 4 days because my feet are hurting... is that normal? or should i just slow down my work out? i shifted to playing basketball instead... is playing basketball also like jogging?

Jogging is awesome but there is alot of impact/pressure on the feet. You should mix it up a little....try some cycling, swimming...anything really to get your heart rate going, there are tons of excercises and you are at the point where you have been doing jogging a bit now and it might even start boring your or become monotonous?! If you have access to a Gym then elyptical machines are an awesome cardio workout without any impact on the feet to speak of.
