Jmann journey to a new me

Well I decided to finally make a
Journal of my journey to a new me. I guess I will tell a back story. I have never been really over weight just have always had a belly. And this summer I have some motivation to loose it. I get to go to Hawaii in August. So that really made me want to step up and lose the gut and get into shape. I have always like to bike. And have ridden pedal bikes for many years and last year I started riding to work. And as soon as the weather breaks for the better I will be back on two wheels. But for now I have really started to watch what I eat and how much I eat. I have really started to use self control around food and it has helped. I have also started to do insanity. I just started the forth week of it. And it is my third attempt at trying it. And it is the farthest I have gotten on it. Something always seem to come up and I would loose focus and quit. But not this time. I have always made time for it. I now work out at least 6 days a week if not 7 days. I do insanity M-S and on Sunday I do a kettle bell work out. And if I'm up to it I will go or a mile or two mile run depending on my energy level and how hard I want to push myself. So far I have lost 10 pounds. I started at 205 and my minimum goal is 180. Once I get there I will set a new goal. Sorry it all kinda rambles together. But I wanted to start putting this stuff down in to words to keep myself honest. Well thanks for taking the time to read my story so far.

Thought I would log something down. Just finished up day two of week 4 of insanity. Felt pretty good doing it. I notice that I push myself harder. Which is good. Just can't wait till I can start commuting to work again on the bike.

Hey! Welcome to the forums. Sounds like you're really determined to get it done this time which is good. I'm somewhat new here too. I decided I needed to lose weight after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I have much more work to do than you do, but I'm determined too! I don't think I've mentioned here yet, but I also have a trip coming up which is another reason why I'm trying to lose. Next year around this time I'm planning to go to the Dominican Republic with my mother and a few friends to swim with the humpback whales. This means we all have to get wet suit ready. LOL

Anyway, I hope you continue to do well and that you reach your goal. Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks for the welcome. I am determined this time. Swimming with whales sounds like fun. I just weighed myself this morning. I lost another 1.8 pounds and I'm down to 193.4. It felt good to see that number on the scale.

Well I had a small accomplishment today. I did the cardio recovery from insanity and the I felt like I needed some cardio so I went for a jog. Well I usually do 2 miles after a pervious workout. And I usually am very tired afterwards. But today I was feeling good at the 2 mile mark so I thought lets keep going. And pushed myself and ended up doing 3.25 miles under 30 min. Which the last couple I times I tried to do 3 miles it was over 30 min. So I felt pretty good after I saw the finally time and the distance. Here is a screen shot of my running app

Excellent on the run, I know that once I am able to put running back into my workouts it will make all the difference, I just have to wait until I lose more weight or I will blow my knees out...keep moving, you are doing great

Well finally month one of insanity is done. I finished up the last workout this morning. There is one week of a disc called core cardio and balance. And it's suppose to help you get ready for the second month. Then one week from Monday I start the max interval training part. To be honest. I'm kinda nervous for it. Other then that I have been doing good with not over eating and not eating things that I shouldn't. I have slip ups every now and then but not big ones. I will have a handful if potato chips or a couple bite size candies or like last night I ha some really good fish and it was hard for me not to keep going back for more. Well that's it for now.

Well just thought I would post something. I have been doing the core cardio and balance for my workout. Giving my body a break. Till Monday that is. Then it will be the max training. And my last weight in was yesterday and I was 191.2. That's it for now.

After a bad weekend of food. And not working out much. But after two days of max interval of insanity I weighed myself this morning and I'm down to 189.2. Only 9lbs to go till my first goal.

Goodjob on your losses thus far! I was looking at the screen shot of your running app... isn't it evil that they put a Mcdonald's add at the bottom? Only 2.37 miles away lol

So I have one more day till I get a break from insanity. This first week has kicked my tail. But I'm definitely starting to see a change in how I look and feel. I need new pants for sure now. I gained a hole in my belt about two and a half weeks ago and I can already tell that it is not as tight as it was then. And the weather is changing for the better and I hope to be back on two wheels pedaling to and from work hopefully by mid April.

Yessss if you wear a belt regularly its one of the coolest ways to see the changes your making!

Well after a pretty good weekend. I did good at not eating a bunch of good Easter food today. And only had a small piece of cherry pie. I will start commuting to work via my bike. (That's my plan anyways). Then after I get home I start week two of month two of insanity. It will make for a interesting day.

So I got my first ride in to work via my pedal bike. It's a grand total of 8.63 miles round trip. It felt good to do it as well. I did better then I thought I would since it was my first ride of the year. I made it into work is 16:32 min. The ride home was good as well even though I forgot my water which sucked. After I got some water in me I did my insanity workout and did better then I though I would considering I did it after riding my bike. Luckily it was the easiest one of this circuit. I will really push myself tomorrow after my ride cause it is then the hardest workout of the circuit. Well that's it for now. Thanks for reading. Feel free to post questions or comments.
