JLS's attempts at weight loss

I started my weight loss beginning at 172lbs in November 05. At that time I was working at a desk job. I began by exercising on an elliptical machine 30 minutes 5 days a week in the morning prior to going to work, and are within moderation. I hit a plateau at 153 lbs about 6 weeks in, continued to exercise for an additional 4 weeks until I simply gave up. May 06 I started a new job as an apprentice lineman, my job became much more active, however my diet took a turn for the worse (gas station lunches if you can imagine) I did have a stint where I actually dropped down to 142lbs due to prescription drug induced depression, but my weight went back up to 153lbs, shortly after discovering the problem. My job generally leaves me fatigued at the end of the day so I really don’t get any additional cardio in. January 2, 07 I rolled a digger derek truck at work luckily I escaped with only a broken arm. Now I sit behind a desk again until I’m healed. I’ve began running again 30 minutes 3-5 times a week for the past 4 weeks and modified my diet accordingly(healthier and under 1500 cals). I am seeing no results, and am really starting to feel the desire to give up. Obviously the work out in the field burnt up more calories than the aerobic exercise, all I can hope is that when I get back out there I can keep up with the cardio so I can see some results.

Just keep at it. Ive noticed the best thing to get you through a plateau is to just have a postive attitude. The mind is a crazy thing and if you are always thinking positive then the chances of something positve happening are very high. Also is you mix you carido instead of just doing the elipical. That will help confuse your muscles and you will burn fat faster. I found it is always good to keep the body guessing. That is just one opinion. good luck to you and keep your head up. here is a good quote to help you on the down days.
