Goals -
1. To lose about 35 pounds
This will be accomplished combination of moderate exercise and a change in diet (elimination of fried foods, processed sugars and diary items). For the time being, I will not count calories too carefully. The idea is to eat when I'm hungry so I'm less likely to overeat. I'm also drinking 3 liters of water a day to help reduce my appetite and clear out my pores.
2. To get into shape and be able to do long-distance running again
This will be accomplished by anaerobic exercise mixed with a little running. For the time being, I'm taking a 1-hour pilates class 2x week, and I'll be doing a 15 run/walk twice a week.
My short-term goal is to do this for about 3-4 weeks before adding in a 3rd 15-minute run. After I do that for about 4-6 weeks, I'll start training to run a marathon.
I used love to run, but unfortunately my college schedule made it hard to keep up. Then after I graduated "life happened" (bought a house planned a wedding in 6 months). Just when I was about to get back into running, I had scary unexplained health problems. These included extreme fatigue, artheritis, muscle pain, mood swings, hallucinations, and headaches.
We didn't know what caused it so I feared I'd never be able to run again. Fortunately, we discovered and fixed the cause--CO poisoning. I feel we are very blessed, and that I have been giving a second chance on life. I plan to live it to the fullest now!
