Jan 6th => May 10th

I posted this update in my journal, but I thought I'd post it here too.

The first set is Jan 6th, March 8th, and the second pic is May 10th.

One of my pet peeves is pictures in two different poses and locations...so at some point I'll get some pics in the same spot and time of day as the first set.

Not a whole lot of change between May 10th and today, mostly maintaining until I get off the fence about cutting vs bulking. I think at this point I could go either way. I'm pretty scared to bulk though... since I know how much freakin work losing the fat was.

Thats some good progress man, you should be proud of yourself.

Thats a HUGE change man.

Such significant progress.

Do you know the BF/weight difference in between the 2 pics?

+rep for amazing progress.

Yeah, that is pretty damn admirable, if you ask me. I know how you feel, too. After I lost 30 pounds, I hated the idea of ANY fat coming back. But after awhile, I just got tired of lifting the same weights over and over. I needed a new goal, so I finally made myself start a bulk. I made mistakes, but in the end, it was a great learning process. I'm going for it a second time right now, and I'm correcting the mistakes I made as best I can. And it's worth it, I love the challenge of lifting more weight every damn time in the gym! Go for it, just do it smart.

no idea on the bf% change... but the beginning weight was around 200, and I'm 160 right now. Roughly 40 lbs difference. I had already started losing a bit before I joined, so in total I've lost about 45 lbs. I'm pretty excited about it -- particularly that I'm now light enough and strong enough to do a few sets of pullups. I couldn't do a single pullup before.

Full-Body workout, three times a week.

Day 1:
Squat, Horizontal Push, Unilateral, Horizontal Pull, Misc iso, Core

Day 2:
Bench Variation, Vertical Pull, Unilateral, Vertical Push, Row, Core

Day 3:
Deadlift, Horizontal Push, Unilateral, Horizontal Pull, Biceps, Core

Although I must admit, I did a lot more DL than squat... squats are the shizznit, but they hurt so bad.

I based this off of an article on beginner program design over at t-nation. Although I can't seem to find the right link at the moment.

what was your calorie intake like 2-3k daily??? or 5+???

there was one guy on here he had like 4-6k intake daily and it was insane he had pictures and even talked about his meal plan it was pretty crazy i dont know how you would eat like that and cost him so much its not realistic to anybody else

He said he took in 6-7K and I don't know whether he was miscalculating his intake or what, and even if he wasn't, he said he does 5-6 hours of cardio and breakdancing so add that with a naturally high metabolism and 6-7K isn't that unrealistic.

But this guy in this thread, he lost weight. So theres no way he was eating 3K+ a day.

Great progress.. You went from everyday out of shape, to fall into a crowd, to a stand out of a crowd type body. Awesome.

sorry for the mess up

i meant what was your intake when you were bulking to get to the size you were was it a gradual bulk or did you bulk my over short period of time and now in cutting stages???

Yeah, definitely not. I started with around 1700 (since i calculated 2200 was my maintenance level + activity factor). I lost some weight and recalculated. I only eat about 1610 a day right now. I think I just had a pretty decent muscle base to begin with, just had a few hot-fudge sundaes, potato chips, and sodas on top of it...
