Hi guys!
My name is Jackie, and this is my 1st journal here.
I've been here bunches of time before, and you guys are great, so supportive but on my end ive never got the motivation going!
After months and months of not being able to dance, or run, or anything remotely fun with my boyfriend b/c im so self concious about myself, I decided to take action.
Things were getting worse, and there was 193 lbs on my 5'2 petite body frame. Its awkward.
I went to weight watchers, earlier in the year, lost .2 1st week, the GAINED .8 the next. I bought membership for a month. but decided to stop going..How was I going to pull this off? I cant joke myself..
My diet consisted of anything drivethru. Mostly burger king for breakfast, maybe a 2-3 entree plate from Panda, and I ordered chinese or pizza for dinner. Cans of soda piling up on my computer desk as I sat here.
Both me and my b/f gained a considerable amount of weight since we've been together, and we're both sick of it. I ate so much junk I was sick EVERY DAY with either too much gas, throwing up, stomach aches, and the like.
I decided to go to the doctors, where I was hoping to get diet pills, and check on my health. Yeah yeah diet pills are stupid, thankfully Indiana doesnt really allow them unless the doctor wants to get better malpractice insurance.
The doctor basically charged me 80 bucks to tell me im only 21, eat less, and EXERCISE! ....Yeah stupid something I already knew, but it gave me a bit of a kick on the butt anyways. And im out 80 bucks..lol
Slacking on my eating habits really made me slack on my appearance, I mean, I'm gonna look bad in anything right? So tshirt and jeans it is! and ill put up my hair up sloppy to boot. Makeup? yeah lets just do that minimally..
For someone who wanted to always wanted to dress up awesome for her b/f...this was a big step DOWN.
The day after I went to the doctor I went to my boyfriends where, its been getting increasingly awkward. That night my b/f said he loved me, but things lately have lost its spark, we dont go anywhere, I dress up in basically the same things everytime he sees me, and its like im just some friend coming over.
Broke my heart a bit..he hasnt exactly looked like prince charming himself lately either so it was mutual.., we're still together, but it definately put things in perspective.
That same day, earlier, and had signed up for Weight Watchers again to give it that good 'ol college try...There is no way I want to ruin a great relationshop b/c of my self esteem, I needed to get it back.
The next day I worked my ASS off. Worked out like you wouldnt believed and it felt GREAT. I decided to walk more, eat less, all that good stuff.
Im currently on the flex points program and seeing how I was too lazy to cook and clean up was my down fall, I went to walmart and stocked up to the brim with "SmartOnes" and "Lean Cuisine". I am allowed 24 points a day, which is more than enough.
I have a soy shake for breakfast packed with vitamins, a smartones or subway for lunch, as well as dinner. For snacks, I have Attain soy bars from Melaeuca, () and ff pudding occasionally. Cut out the soda and nothing but water to drink (get kinda boring but its refreshing)
I walk the treadmill on a high incline a couple miles as well as the bike, which are both in my apt's gym. Since its so small, I feel comfortable there.
Another fun thing i've been doing is DDR or Dance Dance Revolution for my Playstation 2, which is GREAT and a fun workout as youre playing a game. Its infamous for a great all over cardio workout, and there is also a workout mode, that counts your calories as you dance and lets you set goals!
Anyways, I went back to Weight Watchers for the next meeting, hoping to god that I did it this time. I needed SOME motivation. I really did.
"4.2lbs lost! Congrats!" the WW leader Kathy said.
I was EXCITED. I felt great, after some determination, I finally got some results, and its not HARD.
At times, like TODAY you really wanna eat something great...I clenched my steering wheel driving by Arby's and Burger King, I mean what could one breakfast sandwich or Junior roast beef do to me?
I drove by proudly, not being afraid..and instead of looking away, I decided to stare at them as I drove by. I'm not going to let it control me.
After a week, I no longer have horrible gas pains, or feeling sick, I feel like a new me.
After my lease it up on my apt, in March '07, I'm hoping to join the Air Force, and im needing to lose at least 50lbs by then to be presentable and up to the challenge. Most of all, I want to be part of the bigger picture, and I want to be able to go to school and get a degree b/c I cant afford to right now.
Thanks for you support in advance, Those before and afters are AMAZING...such an inspiration, each and every one of you are, I'm hoping to be an inspiration as well
Thank you for reading.
