Hi
I'm 25 and and about 60lbs/27kgs overweight. BMI wise I'm just in the door of obesity.I've pretty much been about here my entire life. I was a little round as a kid, not round enough to be belittled for it but round enough to be uncomfortable doing any kind of physical activity.
when I was 12 my family went through a crisis, my little brother was born with severe mental disabilities, I ate to deal. My parents were too busy dealing with our little bundle of pain to see what was happening to me. I don't blame them but only recently did I realize that I need to undo what happened, claim a responsibility for it.
I've made some progress, since last June I've lost 16lbs/7.2kgs, but found myself settling into an old routine since around christmas. I suspect that opting to do it slowly and methodically and not having really tried before is on my side because I noticed I didn't gain the weight back.
I'm joining the forum because firstly, so much of my life is online already, a support group and a form of accountability here would make a differnce.Secondly, I really don't know what I'm doing, I feel lost when I gym, I don't know what I'm supposed to be aiming for, so I need information.
EDIT: started a journal over here http://weight-loss.fitness.com/weight-loss-diary/47696-cocoon-annemouse.html
