Hello I am 29 years old and over weight. Ever since I was 12 I was been bigger than the girls around me. I am about 5' 6 and 180 pounds. I am married and have 2 children. I have let my weight control my life for too long. I feel like I have been in hiding and am waiting for my time to step out. I am hoping to get support from this site. I am also in a weight loss group but am not doing very good in the challenge. Ironically I work in the nutrition field. I feel like a phony at work. I want to live life to the fullest but I handicap myself.

Hi, sweet tooth! I know what you feel, I had the same feeling before, but now I am happy with my life, cause I lose weight and I am keeping my weight now.

Well once you decide, you have to keep going and going and is for long term. You should have good habit about food and exercise, change your habit everyday and keeping your new habit until you use to it.

The first thing I did was keep all the healthy food in the kitchen and the fridge. So all the stuff like soda, cookies, chocolate etc. should not in your kitchen.

I also share my weight-loss plan with a friend. It is always easier when you are two people and more fun!

I Wrote down my goal on many papers with details (prefer something like “loose every week 2 pounds” to “I must eat less”) and stick it everywhere (bedroom, fridge, bathroom …).
I Drink a lot of water ( 3 L per day) and forget all kind of fast food.

I think this should be a good beginning. Keeping going, good luck!

That's for the reply. I was actually losing weight. This weekend was my daughters birthday and a wedding. I think I gained two of the three pounds I lost back. I have to weigh in for my weight loss competition on Thursday so I have to step it up. Right now I want to stay the same or drop a little. If we gain we have to pay a dollar.
My goal this week is to drink a lot of water, cut my portion sizes down and exercise for at least 30 min each day.
