Ok, I have been here before, it's a little different though......I mean its my first time at this site and I have literally been revived. I thank God for whoever came up with this motivational site with real people with real weight issues. Just a little bit about myself.....I am 28 married with 2 children, I am a Christian who has found her true love in God and lovin herself. Some how I couldn't seem to shake these bad habits that so easily beset me......Both of my grandparents died from Cancer and diabetes,my father died last year of diabetes and my mother is living with it currently..my husband has been diagnosed with this disease as well, but whose report do we believe??? God has the last say and that gives me hope. I have been heavy all of my life and now I am fed up with this defeated lifestyle. So I have decided to turn it over to God and allow him to transform my mind and take the life has given me and live it. I thank you all for your insight and your hard work and if you have any more words of wisdom, Please, Please feel free to share..
:) :)
Oh by the way, I took pics of myself in the mirror last night, I will try to get them posted asap!!!

Hi, I'm glad you came here- I'm a Christian too, and I do believe God can help us! I too have a long way to go, but you gotta start somewhere! Hopefully we can encourage each other from time to time. If you ever want to visit my diary and chat it's called, "Nicole's diary~ Gotta be for real" I come on often to write in it. It does help I think. Take care, and good luck!...to us both!

Wow

The immediate response is unbelievable.......thank you all so much you just don't know what this means to me. Well today was pretty darn rough, its like, your mind knows when you have decided to do something and it starts to rebel.....I have never been so hungry for all the wrong foods but I resisted temptation (only by Gods grace) It was hard, yall (I live in TX in case you were wondering about the use of the word "Yall") know its Girl scout cookie time and my husband bought my favorite (carmel delights) I plan to give them away tomorrow at church to the best kid, lol...well tomorrow's a new day, its about 10:40pm and I am about to go to the track to do some walking and thinking. Praise God for one more day!!!!!:)

I did it!!

Ok, I know that I just posted a few hours ago but I had to tell someone, I did it!!!! I went to the track tonight and boy do I feel good!!!! This is a big start for me, I had to get that out of my system, thanks for listening, Yeyyyyy:D :D :D

have a great day today, Lena

Thanks Lena410 for your kind words, I am determined to succeed as well....Well let me tell yall about this weekend. My hubby got off work friday and I was full of energy, I told him that I was going to the track, I think I blogged about it up there somewhere, but anyway, I did it right all weekend I went walking on the track all weekend, it gave me lots of energy!!!! I am so proud of me right now, but none of this would be possible if God were not directing me through this. I give all glory to him....time for round 2....Are we ready guys and girls???? I want all the Losers on my team please :) Talk to yall later!!!!!

Hi Lovinme,
welcome to the forum!
I'm a Christian too, an when it gets difficult to resist the temptation of a cake or a slice of pizza I often think that it would not only be bad for me to give in, but it is also a way to thank God for the wonderful and perfectly working body that he gave me. I should take care of it out of respect for Him.
Check out my diary sometimes, it's called the (im)possible mission of an italian cook's daughter.

Good luck with your goals and count on me if you need help.

Nothing like a late workout

Ok, this makes my 4th consecutive day in working out. Tonight I walked 2.5 mi and I feel great. Today it was all about portion control. I have decided to prepare my dinner for the week in advance. I have baked grill chicken breast and stemmed brocolli (my favorite):) I have lots of fruits, the plums here are great!!!!! (Everything is big in Texas) Well I am going to bed now, I am going to sleep like a newborn on an umbilical card tonight. Holla!!!!!

Ok, I had a total of 9 teeth pulled today so you can imagine what I will be eating for the next few weeks. I weighed in this morning and my current weight is 233lbs.....my sockets will close by Wed. of next week, so I plan to start working out again a week from now. I if anyone has some advice on what's health to eat with no back teeth, lol let me know.....thanks for the support!!!! Oh, I almost forgot to post my goals.....

Baby steps!

By April 1st goal weight is 220lbs-218lbs
By May 5th goal weight is 210lbs
By June 30th goal weight is 195lbs(Is this month a bit unrealistic?)

I have a work out regimen and diet that I plan to follow once my mouth heals....

well all you have to do is eat softer food. if you have problems chewing at all then you should stick to what my mom calls spoon food (its all kinds of stews and soups etc) it is actually very healthy, you can do it with meat or without. (my favourite is on 2tb spoons olive oil i add 1 finely chopped onion, two finely chopped cloves of garlic, i finely chop all kinds of veggies-leek, peppers, carrots, etc, add some tomato concentrate or mashed tomato, little bit of water, season it the way i like, and let it cook until its soft enough, if i want it as side dish i make it so the water mostly evaporates). you can even put in a blender after you've finished if you have more trouble chewing. this is very nutritious, low in calories and healthy.
you can also have scrambled eggs...that shouldn't pose a problem, mashed potatoes with some veggies in them (i put green beans, or carrots or watever, and mash them).
i know how no teeth can pose problems because my mom was without most of her teeth for about two weeks as she was waiting for prosthetics.

hope some of this helps, have a great day :) Lena

Ohhhhh I am hungry

As I stated above, I have had 9 extractions done on yesterday and my stomach is getting the point....I can't wait to start back working out!!!!:D
