Is there any cardio I can do without putting to much pressure on my legs?

My left leg has been sore for several weeks, I think I pulled a hamstring or some muscle. It was my whole leg but has now moved upwards, and has gradually gotten better, but this is going to take much time. Is there anything else I can do to exercise to lose weight instead of running? or should I just walk, and light jogging?

This happened since I haven't worked out in a year, and last time I ran a mile was in high school. I started walking/jogging 2 miles 3-4 times a week, after the 2nd week is when it started. Haven't exercised since and it's been several weeks, so I want to continue exercising.

You can swim, it doesn't put as much pressure on your legs as running and also you can choose to primarily use your arms to move. Rowing is another good option.

Swimming is excellent cardiovascular excercise and, you can choose not to use your legs much at all if you wish. I wonder if its the impact of walking/jogging that has been causing the pain? If so, you could also try an elliptical machine if you have access to one or even a stationery bike.

No, don't have an elliptical machine. I think it's probably due to bad form, I'm probably pushing off with my left leg or landing it on it harder than my right leg. Kinda messed up since I really need cardio to lose my weight. Do you think there would be anything wrong if I continued walking/jogging? I don't want to have to get a gym membership to swim since I have a treadmill at home.

Well, if it is the impact thats causing these difficulties and you are determined to carry on, you could try running or walking on a softer surface like grass for example.

If you're truly concerned about this, you should get it looked at by a Doctor.

A couple of months ago I busted my knee, which meant no more jump roping or running. I assume you're doing cardio to burn fat. Well, I found several solutions to help lose weight that dont involve leg usage much or at all. These all have worked for me, in fact better than my old cardio.

1. swimming.
2. rowing machine
3. weight lifting, but using high reps and short rest intervals (30 seconds) so its more like cardio
4. heavy bag
If you have absolutely no equipment, there's always shadow boxing/ mirror training. stand in front of a mirror and punch as quickly as you can. if you work on footing and boxers stance while doing this, youl be able to get a good workout

yeah, you COULD buy a cheap mini trampoline for 40 bucks or less. Just jump for an hour. itl be soft on your legs.
