Is my figure normal?

Hiya Im new to these forums so not quite sure where to post this lol but anway despite always being slim my stomach has always stuck out further than my chest and to me it doesn't look normal and looks weird but my family say its how females are built so just wanted to ask for a few opinions, is this normal would you say:eek: I though about going to the gp but would feel stupid as Ive always been this way but when I get up my stomach it is flatter and sticks out loads towards the end of the day. Is lack of a toned stomach the problem or is it the way Im built? Im 24 and 5ft in height.

Thanks

I am a guy and have similiar issues as well.... it sucks.. but here is a few trick that I do to reduce that "look." Change your standing / walking / sitting posture. Avoid slouching. Shoulders back and up when you stand and talk.

You are very fit, but what I did that helped me a lot was dropped bodyfat. That stubborn weight around the waistline is tough to lose but doable to create an illusion. The butt will be reduced as well, which you may not like but will create that "straight" illusion. Try some yoga (but then I tell everyone to try yoga). Yoga helps stengthen and balance the core.

Those are just minor detail, you are beautiful already. Quick fix is to just suck in the stomach and stand tall for pictures. :)

I agree, your figure is great. I know some extremely fit females who have very similar figures to yours. I also agree perhaps paying a bit more attention to posture would help, not that your posture looks poor though. I think bottom line is that this is your body shape and it is indeed normal. I know from the yoga classes I attend that some people have very arched backs like you do, which tends to push out the tummy, and some have almost no arch, which has the opposite effect.

Thanks guys, yea I don't do much stomach work so perhaps I could try toning it up and I'l try to improve my posture thanks for the help :)

Look up Anterior Pelvic Tilt, it's what you have. I'll update this post with a link later

Here's a good diagram

Ive heard of that is it where the abbs are slack and the lower back muscles are tight, is it a medical concern?

Not really, it’s just a postural defect but you should try and sort it out, if nothing else it could give you back aches

This advice looks pretty good to me

thanks for that :) I remember being this shape as a young kid which makes me wonder if its just how Im built rather than something that can be changed I thought it was odd but always assumed it was normal I'l have a look at those exersises though.

Those were the excercised that I used to help fix my APT. Never knew that there was a conidition... thx Typhon for the answer and Thank you radergalz for posting the question. Always nice to learn something new.

It's recently occured to me that I have this issue myself when viewing side profiles shots of myself. Not a fan. I'll have to put some effort into correcting this as well. I already do that planks, but adding the glute plank and long lunges should help me. Leg raises also. I've also been concentrating on keeping my glutes tight.

I don't believe you.. you are just a hypocontract (mispelled badly). Just because we say that we have it, does not mean you do too!!! :yelrotflmao:

See Raidgal, by posting this, you have helped at least 2 of us here (and probably many more) to focus on fixing this issue. thanks girl.
