Is it possible to lose weight but gain bodyfat?

Is it possible to lose weight but gain bodyfat?

In the past week ive dropped around 5 pounds, but notice no difference in my bodyfat... maybe a little increase in my facial area, and chest...

I could just be paranoid, but is this possible?

Isnt it true that weight doesnt really matter its just mainly how u look because I have been gaining weight and i dont know if its muscle weight water weight but like i used to weigh 134 and now i weigh 140. Least this is what i weighed this morning or could it be its becuase of my period coming tomorrow....last week i weighed 138. I do alot of running so i do have a lot of leg muscle but not upper body muscle my stomach is still blubber.

running doesnt necessarily(sp?) build leg muscle. ive actually read that you eat more muscle when running/jogging on a diet, than doing HIIT or sprinting. and yeah weight doesnt really matter, necessarily....i have looked at a sacle in the past years.... i should probably get on that though. and i can diet myself down just fine. scales can be a bit discouraging if your ignorant to alot of things dieting. but i always go how i feel, and look.

on the other note, yeah since muscle weights more than fat, it is possible.

Are you lifting weights? Are you eating enough? If you're not, chances are you lost muscle - which is why there's not much difference in your bodyfat.

It is true that weight doesn't really matter - but it does to a point. If you're on a good diet and exercising, then it doesn't matter. But from your posts, you seem to be snacking a lot and cheating on the weekends so chances are you may not be gaining muscle. It really depends - if you notice that you're losing fat in some places, then you're gaining muscle - if you're not losing much fat, well then
