Is it possible to be too thin? I am losing wanted weight.

Hi everyone. I am 23 y/o male, 5'7 - 5'8, and I weight about 118 lbs.(down from 126 lbs.) I run 3-4 times a week and practice martial arts about 2-3 as well. I have a pretty healthy diet and recently cut out a lot of meat and processed foods(lifestyle choice). The only thing now is that I seem to be losing weight that I don't want to lose. I usually eat 4-6 small to medium sized meals a day and drink lots of water.

I was wondering if I should be concerned about my size and if there's anything I should do to ensure that I am as healthy as possible.

Thanks

I'm suggesting you to get a free body scan to determine if you should be concerned about your size. It allows you to find out if you should gain/reduce weight and how much to gain/reduce.

I don't know of any place that does a free body scan (i.e. a dexa scan)...

If you're losing weight you're not consuming enough calories to maintain your current weight.
It sounds like removing the processed foods and meat didn't get replaced with other foods, so now you're in a deficit.
Be sure you research 'complete protein' food pairings...it sounds like you're eliminating meat due to vegetarian route, so you need to make sure you're not giving yourself other nutrient deficiencies by pairing vegetable proteins that provide a complete amino profile.

Why do you want to lose weight? I recommend you should allow the way you are going right now. There are couples of reason:

• It is possible to negatively affect an individual's health by losing too much weight.

• Another disadvantage of becoming too thin is that it puts the person at increased risk of injury.

• Many people have the wrong idea that they should try to get as skinny as possible. Even though this is a common point of view, it can lead to serious health problems.

• Even though these individuals are able to lose large amounts of weight, they are risking their health in the process.

So, don’t take it as fantasy. Just keep going.
