Is It Bad To Exercise Every Day?

Hey folks,

I have been exercising every OTHER day instead of EVERY day for the past couple of months because a buddy of mine told me it is better for your body if you let it heal for 1 day in between each exercising day.

Do you guys know if this is true or if it is just a crazy rumor that got spread around?

Right now, I do crunches, push-ups and I go running for 2 miles every other day.

I would really like to start exercising every single day again instead of just every other day but at the same time I don't want to injure my body in any way.

Can you guys help clear this up for me please?

I think it depends on what kind of exercise you are doing. I believe cardio is ok every day, but lifting should be every other, to let the muscles heal. I'm certainly no expert, though. :cool:
 
I would try a bit more balanced exercise routine before I worry about resting and such. Do you train at home? Have any equipment?
