Is is best to plan meals in advance?

Hi all,

I was trying to count calories, but was finding it difficult sometimes, especially when it came to tea time, so I have decided to eat healthy and try not to worry too much about the amount of calories, but my question is, do you plan everything you are going to eat the next day or take the day as it comes, I've tried both and keep falling down, maybe I'm not being strict enough with myself?

I would just like to know how others control their eating habits

Thank you

I'd say you're not being strict enough. Skip the biscuits at tea time :)

Plan in advance, and then you have no reason not to eat the healthy food you prepared.

Thanks for you reply, I do think i need to plan alot more, even when it comes to shopping, as when i don't have what i want for tea (this is what I call my evening meal) I tend to have anything there is,which I think makes me fail.

Thanks for your advice

planning in advance

I think real life results in a combination of planning in advance and being spontaneous. (What if you plan a meal two days in advance and then a friend invites you out to eat?!) I think it is good to have healthy meals either prepared or planned ingredients already in the frig, so that if you come home hungry, you're far likelier to make good choices than if you have to stop at the store on the way home. But sometimes things come up. If you have a change of plans though, have a lot of water or fruit before you go out for dinner, so that you don't go crazy "off plan."
