Is a Mid Bulk Cut Possible?

Hey all, hope we had good weekends?

The post xmas chocolate is now gone but the guilt and fat remains!

Ive been following New Rules' Hypertrophy I with reasonable success, but my 3200 kcalorie target has been met by eating the chocolate rather than the clean foods i stick to 95% of the time.

I'd just like to know if a switch to a cut for a few weeks using a 5x5 3 day fullbody program would be worthwhile.

Or do i stick to hypertrophy I, eat clean and add in cardio (football training and HIIT) and hope that some extra muscle shifts the fat?

For anyone that has read my old posts my fat ass in my curse. its something im aware of and it bugs the life out of me. if i could just get the body fat down a couple of percent then start bulking clean and slowly then lean up for summer then id be a much more contented trainer!

i know i should grin and bear the bulk and the pro-bodybuilders will wonder what im going on about but to be absolutely honest i didnt want to bulk and cut per se (thats another post), but it was a great excuse to knock up the kcalorie intake.

i have my reasons to trim up for feb, im not expecting miracles but id really like to trim up a bit and then start adding the muscle again afterwards.

thanks for all advice

ben

I think you should just change your diet back to a clean one and continue bulking until you finish, then just cut off all of the fat you gained later.

i do want to gain muscle, but not using a see all eat all bulk and get big quick but instead bulk slowly maintaining a decent body fat level, as per Thibaudeau over at t-nation

Testosterone Nation - The Carb Cycling Codex.

You shouldn't be doing a "see all eat all bulk" regardless of your goals anyway. Maintaining a decent body fat level is not hard; just eating a 500-700 calorie surplus depending on your activity level and bulking will not increase your body fat level that rapidly. Most important of all, eat clean.

 Would it be a mid bulk cut or short bulk and cut?? :p

as others suggest, clean up diet maybe add some cardio and pick a goal.
