Introduction and Hello

My name is David and I am 28. At this current time I weigh 205 and have a current goal of 150. I have kind of always been challenged with weight, but at one time I thought I had it taken care of. I did it all the wrong way (I will go into detail about that in my journal). My wife and I now have three kids and the doctor always asked if it was a race between my wife and I to see who could gain the most weight. In the midst of gaining weight I was told by my doctor that I have type II Diabetes. This runs strong in my family, luckily the doctor said that I can get rid of it if I loose the weight and get into shape. And thus is why I am here.

Last week was the starting point for both my wife and I. We have started to watch what we eat and have gone to the gym every night. I have somewhat of a plan, but I hope from the help of you guys I will be able to develop a better suited plan for my needs.

I have read a lot of journals on here and there is a lot of inspiration here. I am looking forward to getting to know you all hopefully I may be able to help out in some way.

just dropping in to wish you and your wife success. Welcome to the WLF. So far everyone that I've had contact with have been nothing but supportive and great! :) Roam around the site and read articles in various categories also. (ie: Nutrition) Also, a great motivator to working out are the Club Challenges. The best to you both!

check the workout thread in the weight loss thru exercise section and then go to the easiest nutrition guidelines thread in the Nutrition section - both should give you a big jumping off point.

David, you're the same size as me. I'm 5'5" and have been working in going from 185 (probably a bit more than that actually) to the 150s as well. Certainly check out my journal (sig) if it interests you.

Thank you, I will have to check it out. I am thinking of starting a journal as well. It seems like a good place to keep track of what you are doing. We will see.
