Introducing Myself :)

Hello everyone!

I just joined today...I stumbled across this forum while searching for weight loss methods. My name is Jules and I need to lose 30lbs (but want to lose 40lbs!). I need to lose 30lbs because I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure. I gained those pesky 30lbs since I started working from home and if I do not drop the weight and lower my blood pressure, my Dr is putting me on meds which I do not want.

So anyway! Hello ! It's good to be here :)

Hello and welcome.

High blood pressure sucks for sure but don't worry just a week of exercise and dieting alone should start to move you away from it and keep you alive and off meds I'm sure.

Hey Jules, welcome.

I think I have the same problem. I haven't been diagnosed with high blood pressure but once I had a regular check up and the doctor measured a very high figures so even if it was something occassional the fact it went so high is worrying enough. And I am only 29. :-( So good luck on your journy. :)

Thanks so much guys!
I maintained a 70lbs weight loss for 12 years (I was a chunky girl at college!):jump: and now I am finding it harder to lose weight as I am older! The pounds don't move like they used to!

How are you guys losing the weight? I have elected to count calories and watch my fat intake...that's worked for me in the past:)

Hi,

I've had high blood pressure since I was 16, so 30 years. When I am thinner it is manageable, when I am heavier I have to be on Meds. Docs don't understand why I don't have any damage to my internal organs, but so far I am okay.

So losing weight once and for all is my plan too. But while you are at it, watch your salt intake and most over the counter cold medications will increase BP. The good news is that exercise and maintaining a healthy weight is your best defense.

Best of luck with it!

Thanks guys!

I've always been pretty active...weight train 3-4 times week and cardio 5 times a week. Because my mother has high BP and is on meds, there is a chance it is hereditory but my Dr. highly suggested I drop this weight. I guess 30lbs can really make a big difference as far as health is concerned eh? I also have an old injury (tore my twice in my right knee) and that is flaring up too with this weight gain!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
