Just wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Mark, I'm 31 y/old, from Merseyside, UK
I have a family, Fiance and 10 y/old devil, er I mean daughter. And a dog, Lexy, 3 y/old rotty. This takes up alot of my time.
I work as an Electrical Engineer, working shifts. Again takes up alot of time.
I have just joined a gym. I mainly use it during the days I am off work and everyone else is at school/work.
In 2000, I joined the air force and did compulsory PT sessions and started going the gym after my training. I was really pleased with the results, I looked well and had the confidence to take off my shirt in the summer!
I've never been a big sporty person and always struggled with fitness. I am just not naturally fit.
Since leaving, I have slowly put more and more weight on each year, and really noticed myself looking 'chubby' in photos from this year.
After a bout of stress and illness, I have lost a lot of weight. I dont want to put it back on. Well, I dont mind the weight, but dont want to be chubby. I am currently 75kg(12st) and I am 6ft tall.
What I want to acheive? Well, I want to build myself up a little. Not a muscle man! I still have a bit of fat lying round my back, chest and waist which needs to go. Then I just want to have the confidence to take off my shirt again. I want to gaet a tattoo on my upper arm, but before I do I want a good looking arm! My upper body has never been very strong so want to build up strength there. My legs are OK, again just build them up a little so they're not so skinny.
I'm not into spending hours on different machines targetting each individual muscle. I haven't got the stamina for that and find it boring so less likely to stick to it. I also dont want to spend time in the free weights area surrounded by all those muscle clad lads. Its a confidence thing, and again, I'm more likely to walk away and not do anything.
So if anyone can suggest a few exercises to build up all over body strength, please let me know.
Right, I'm off the gym now. Cant sit on my arse all day on pc, only getting finger exercise here!
